The final season of the Rockford Files arrived on DVD today. I’m pretty jazzed, as I now know how I will spend my weekend.
My plans for the weekend

Here’s what Amazon has to say about the final season.
Private eye Jim Rockford (James Garner) begins his final year–not counting eight TV movies–by trying to hang on to his beachfront property (“Paradise Cove”). That matter settled with the aid of legal eagle Mariette Hartley, with whom Garner made a series of Polaroid commercials, Rockford proceeds to tangle with socialite Lauren Bacall (“Lions, Tigers, Monkeys and Dogs”), rival P.I. Tom Selleck (“Nice Guys Finish Dead”), and hooker-turned-hairdresser Rita Moreno (“No Fault Affair”). All his closest companions are along for the semi-final ride: Angel (Stuart Margolin), Lt. Becker (Joe Santos), and his father, Joseph (Noah Beery Jr.), who continues to needle his son about settling down. “When I’m ready, Rocky–not when you are,” Jim replies.

I received the Rockford Files Season 5 in the mail today. What makes this season extra special is that if features Tom Selleck as the Lucky Detective. No matter what happens, he always comes out on top, much to the chagrin of Jim Rockford.

Today I ate the best grilled cheese sandwich ever! It was made from very thick Texas Toast, and a blend of Montery Jack and Cheddar cheese. Lightly buttered bread toasted on the grill with cheese melting out the sides makes for the best sammich you’ll eat this year.

The Rockford Files is the best television show of all time. It started in the mid to late 70s and for the next eight seasons followed the adventures of L.A. Private Eye James Rockford as he stumbled his way from one problem to the next.
Along the way he hooked up with many memorable characters including his father (also James), Angel Martin, Gandy (played by Isaac Hayes), and more.
“I think Rockford Files Rocks! I have all of season one and season two on DVD”.
-Stephen Schleicher

This is the first post. Today I ate a grilled cheese sandwich with a glass of Cherry Kool-aid (Oh-Yeah!). It was a good grilled cheese sandwich.
I have discovered the perfect formula for grilled cheese.
- Get yourself a loaf of Sourdough bread
- Butter the bread on one side
- Heat up the skillet until a drop of butter begins to melt in the pan.
- Put one slice down and drop several slices of Colby-Jack Cheese on the bread.
- Place the second slice on top – butter side out
- When the first slice browns, flip it over and brown the other side.
- Here is the secret – use your spatula to squash everything together in a gooey glob of dough and cheese.
That’s all there is to it. Enjoy!
